A Few Words
of Thanks from the
Tibetan Cultural Center
The Kalachakra for World
Peace 1999 was a great success. We deeply appreciate the generosity
of His Holiness in coming to our Tibetan Cultural Center to give
the Kalachakra Initiation. It has been especially wonderful to
see so many people from all over the world participating in this
momentous event. It has been a real pleasure to provide you with
this opportunity to attend His Holiness' teachings and take the
initiation.
A full report of our debits
and credits for this great event will be published on this website
in approximately 6 weeks. We will donate a portion of our proceeds
to further the special projects of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The remaining moneys will be spent to continue the mission of
the Tibetan Cultural Center. Our mission is to educate the public
about the history, culture, and future of Tibet, to support Tibetans
in Tibet and in-exile, to preserve and transmit Tibetan culture,
religion, and language, and to facilitate and support interfaith
cooperation and dialogue among all people.
Once again, we wish to thank
His Holiness the Dalai Lama for giving the Kalachakra teachings.
We are also very grateful for the presence of the venerable head
lamas of the four sacred traditions and Bon po who have taken
the time, trouble, and effort to travel so far from their monasteries
in India and Nepal to come to Bloomington, Indiana. We also wish
to thank the abbot and monks of Namgyal Monastery for all of
their efforts in performing the Kalachakra ceremonies. We want
to thank our Advisory Board members for all of their support
and our sponsors for their generous financial assistance. We
want to give special mention to all the volunteers, the City
of Bloomington, and the State Department who have worked so hard
to make this event run smoothly and safely. We thank you very
much. Finally, our heartfelt gratitude goes to all of you who
have come to our center to support our endeavors to promote the
cause of peace and harmony in the world.
