Dorkyga Fire Puja - page 1

On December 19, 1999, the monks from Drepung Gomang monastery performed the Dorkgya fire Puja at the Tibetan Cultural center.  The monks created tormas for the ceremony on Thursday, December 16 and began all-day chanting on December 17.  Their chanting ended on Sunday with the offerings made in a  fire ceremony.  Below are some pictures of the event. The tormas, or offerings to a deity, are made of barley, three white products (milk, yogurt, and butter), and three sweet products (honey, sugar, and brown sugar).
