Heart Shrine Relic Tour
Chamtse Ling Temple August 27- 29, 2004

Friday Opening Ceremony 7:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday 10 am to 5 pm.

An exhibition of ancient and Sacred Buddhist relics destined for the Heart Shrine Maitreya statue to be constructed in Kushinagar, UP, India

We are pleased to announce the Relics of Buddha Shakyamuni and other venerable enlightened beings and saints will be coming to the Chamtse Ling Temple on the grounds of the Tibetan Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana August 27-29, 2004.

The Relics are extraordinary pearl-like deposits which are often found in the cremation ashes of Buddhist spiritual masters. Buddhists believe these relics are formed as a result of the spiritual realizations of compassion and wisdom. There are also Buddhist artifacts and a few tooth and bone relics in the collection.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche has collected these extraordinary relics of Buddhist masters and saints. This collection is rare and  precious. All around the world, relics are enshrined in temples, cathedrals and monasteries, but rarely, if ever, made available for public viewing. The Heart Shrine Relic Tour allows free access to these remarkable relics, which are easily visible within their glass cases.

The Benefits of seeing the Relics
Viewing these sacred relics can inspire us to develop the attitude of loving-kindness within our hearts and minds and by so doing we can naturally contribute to peace in the world.

This collection of holy relics is being shown around the world by the kindness of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and hosted by the kindness of Tibetan Cultural Center. Further information on the Relics Tour may be found by emailing "relictour@maitreyaproject.org" or at www.maitreyaproject.org . Admission is free but donations to the Heart Shrine are welcomed.
