Introductory Tibetan Language class to be held at
The Tibetan Cultural Center

We are happy to announce that an introductory Tibetan language class will begin this Sunday February 8, 2004  This first class will be a discussion of what the class will contain , so if you can't come to this don't worry, everything will be repeated next week. Classes will meet every Sunday from 3:00 - 4:00 P.M. and run through May 9.  The course will introduce the Tibetan alphabet, and basic conversation and writing skills.   

The instructor is Gendun Rabsel, He was born in Amdo, Tibet.  In 1987 he walked out of Tibet to Dharamsala, India; There he worked as editor for the "Tibet Times" newspaper. He is the author of several books, his most recent being the "History of Tibetan Literature". It has been published both inside and outside of Tibet by the Tibetan University in Varanasi.  Rabsel is currently teaching Tibetan language at Indiana University and still works for the Tibet Times. He speaks English very well and not only teaches about the language but about Tibetan culture as well.

Course fee is $130.00 and includes instruction materials
